When Ferrari released the 458 Italia back in 2009, some said that automotive perfection had been achieved. Then in 2016, Ferrari came back with the 488 GTB and minds were suitably blown. Now, the wizards of Maranello have unleashed what may not have been previously thought possible: the Ferrari F8 Tributo.
What began in 1975 with the iconic 308 GTB has brought us to the F8 Tributo – a car of such beauty and brilliance it’s almost as if Ferrari envisioned so long ago that this is what it would come to. And in so many ways it has. Every aspect of the F8 Tributo, from the sublime shape formed by a collection of complex angles and curves, to the its beating heart – a 3.9-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine – has come from an ever constant desire to make great be greater. The name itself speaks to that: F8 Tributo. For F8 is the internal engine designation and Tributo, Italian for tribute is Ferrari’s way of acknowledging that what they created would not have been for the success and brilliance of what has come before it.
The numbers are all there: 710 horsepower, 568 lb-ft of torque, 2.9-second 0-60 mph time and a top speed of 211 mph. However, numbers alone can’t quantify the magic of the F8 Tributo in quite the same way as how your pulse will quicken as you approach it, how the hairs on the back of your neck will stand on end to the tune of the glorious exhaust note and how your pupils will dilate to taken in the rush of scenery as you unleash its performance.
It’s not just a car. It’s an experience.
